Erstmals seit dem 356 C/SC gab es im Modelljahr 1983 wieder einen komplett offenen Porsche

Aufgrund der geltenden Sicherheitsbestimmungen in den USA gab es den 911 bis dahin nur als Targa

Den Startschuss gab Porsche Chef Peter W. Schutz, das Cabriolet war etwa 4.000 DM teuer als der Targa und ca. 7.000 DM teurer als das Coupé.

Das „SC“ Cabriolet gab es nur im Modelljahr 1983 und ist mit 4.047 Einheiten ein ziemlich seltener 911er.

In der Europa Version, wie unser Fahrzeug, gab es nur 2.406 Fahrzeuge.

Unser Fahrzeug wurde neu von einem Münchner Unternehmer bei der Mahag bestellt. Allerdings holte er den Wagen nie ab.

Neben der Sonderlackierung in Rubinrot Metallic wurden Nebelscheinwerfer, Colorverglasung und die Radiovorbereitung geordert.

Eine US-Amerikanische Familie auf Europa Reise entdeckte das Auto wenige Monate später im Showroom der Mahag und verliebte sich sofort.

Nach ein paar kleineren Umbauten (z.B. Meilen Tacho) konnte das Auto in die USA verschifft werden.

Der Wagen kam noch 1983 nach Kalifornien und sollte für Jahrzehnte in der Familie bleiben.

2012 wurde von einem Porsche Spezialisten der Motor komplett revidiert.

2015 kam der Porsche schließlich mit einem Tachostand von 62.500 Meilen zurück nach München.

Hierzulande wurde wieder ein KM-Tacho eingebaut; die Gesamtlaufleistung beträgt heute 103.082 km.

In Deutschland hatte er seit 2015 nur einen Besitzer.

Die Innenausstattung in Leder ist fantastisch im Originalzustand erhalten.

For the first time since the 356 C/SC, there was a completely open Porsche again in the 1983 model year

Due to the applicable safety regulations in the USA, the 911 was previously only available as a Targa

Porsche boss Peter W. Schutz gave the go-ahead; the Cabriolet was around DM 4,000 more expensive than the Targa and around DM 7,000 more expensive than the Coupé.

The "SC" Cabriolet was only available in the 1983 model year and, with 4,047 units, is a fairly rare 911.

In the European version, like our vehicle, there were only 2,406 vehicles.

Our vehicle was ordered new from Mahag by a Munich entrepreneur. However, he never collected the car.

In addition to the special paint finish in ruby red metallic, fog lights, coloured glass and radio preparation were ordered.

A US-American family travelling in Europe discovered the car a few months later in the Mahag showroom and immediately fell in love with it.

After a few minor modifications (e.g. mileage speedometer), the car was shipped to the USA.

The car arrived in California in 1983 and was to remain in the family for decades.

In 2012, the engine was completely overhauled by a Porsche specialist.

In 2015, the Porsche finally returned to Munich with 62,500 miles on the odometer.

Back in Germany, a KM speedometer was installed again; the total mileage today is 103,082 km.

It has only had one owner in Germany since 2015.

The leather interior is fantastically preserved in its original condition.
